After our first call with Molly and Reese, they let us know they were most interested in the idea of the black and white looks, but would like to do something a bit more minimal with a full look of white and a full look of black. Fortunately for us, the idea of a simple color palette with detailing through seam work and top stitching is our go to. Other details that the twins told us they would love to see are big shoulders, button downs and bermuda shorts (for Reese).
These next sketches took everything they told us into consideration. A more minimal look with a strong silhouette and unique detailing throughout. We wanted the pieces to play off one another but also feature special details that are seen within our current collection like exposed zippers, inverted seams, heavy top stitching and the newest edition to our Fall collection, button downs.
These next sketches are almost representative of the final looks, but Molly wanted one more thing, one leg black and one leg white on her jeans that featured the same seaming as our black and white jeans from last season.
For the next week we focused on creating these pieces exactly to their imaginations (and their measurements) and we are happy to say the entire experience was an amazing success. Images of the looks can be seen on Vogue.com, Vogue Italia, Elle France and Manrepeller.
Thank you to our PR manager Gina for her amazing ideas and communication and Reese and Molly for trusting us and giving us this opportunity to dress them for NYFW! Creating these collaborative designs have been an experience we feel so grateful for and everyone involved are some of the nicest, most genuine, talented individuals we have ever met.
