Do you enjoy meeting new people? Hearing the stories of someone who is inspiring? If you answered yes to either of those, or find yourself enjoying having a simple conversation with someone else, we’re with you. And we want to offer this to you through THEM, a section of our blog that introduces the inspiring people we have had the fortunate experience of meeting.
Enjoy meeting Minnie.
Both andagain founders, Morgan and Greg, had the pleasure of meeting Minnie on a trip we took to Hong Kong. The trip was for business, launching our first event in Hong Kong (and Asai in general) and part of our goal was to create as much content as we could while there. We were very lucky by deciding to message Minnie while reaching out to a bunch of local models. She responded immediately and was happy to shoot with us.
Minnie began her modeling career only last years, in 2018, after spending time in the multimedia design, digital marketing and branding world. Her career has stayed the same, balancing a full-time job with her passion and pursuit of modeling. Minnie is an incredibly positive person who wants to make the most of what life throws at her, which is exactly how her modeling jobs started. She just said yes and the whole time loved the excitement of the unknown.
When did you start modeling?
I started modeling last year, 2018.
Do you work on/for anything else other than modeling?
I do multimedia design, digital marketing and branding.
Why do you model?
It started
when I created my public Instagram page when I needed it for some event promotion. And I started to get messages from photographers, companies, people who want to do collaboration and cooperation together.
What has shaped your career the most?
I think changes and openness to possibilities shaped my career the most.
If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?
From cities and countries I have been to and I would love to live or stay there for a while, it would be Roma, Italy. But there are also many places that I haven't been to in the world yet so who knows.
Other than modeling, what are some things you enjoy doing?
T
ravel, alone. I think there's a difference between travel with people and alone. When you travel with friends, partner, or family, travel seems to tend to become more like just vacations and entertainment. Nothing's wrong with it but in my experience, it is better if I travel for experiences. Traveling alone allows you to experience something different. When you are on your own, you will have to get out of your comfort zone and do something for yourself and you will become more conscious. You will be excited about new things and new experiences. You make friends with intuition and connect with beautiful human beings. Eat food you have never tried before. Be curious and look beyond what's right in front of you. Take risks. Open yourself up to possibilities and life. Keep your heart open and be grateful for every new experience. Discover the beauty of this amazing world and get lost in its opportunities.
We met you very briefly in Hong Kong while shooting for our new collection. What is your favorite part of Hong Kong?
C
lear water bay. The view and nature are stunning. When I went there for the first time, I was stunned by it. Even though Hong Kong is a concrete jungle, the natural terrain covers about 60% of the total land area of Hong Kong.
What keeps you going? What gives you the motivation to continue in this career and to grow as an individual.
Hunger
for expansion of life keeps me going. When you are curious and passionate about life, you don't really need motivation - you simply just do because you want to seek the truth and are just excited about it. My modeling career happened to me simply because I said yes to it. Life is constantly changing and you never know what life will bring you. That's the beauty of life. As an individual, or as a human being, well being is the core of everything. Things in life don't always happen the way we want it but at least what's happening within us must be the way want it. My modeling career is not always smooth and easy, but I'm still happy where I am today and look forward to more.
