They are usually random people. They are nobody and simply everybody. The portraits represent feelings that everyone goes through on a daily basis through the expressions on their faces. Human contact starts with eyes and all my denim portraits are designed to make eye contact with the audience.
The artist who was born in 1982 in Mersin, Turkey, began her art education in Mersin University’s Faculty of Fine Arts in 1999. She was included in various art projects during her education in the university, where she graduated at the top of her class in 2003. Her aspire to make it as an artist encouraged her to move to Istanbul, the art capital of Turkey, where she established her own studio years later. Her latest project, Denim Skin, is her on-going love affair with denim. She converts used denim into pieces to deliver stories about various subjects like equality and democracy. Her work was celebrated by critics, collectors, architects and interior designers and installed in various architectural spaces and design products.
