There is nothing not to like about podcasts. From educational, to simply entertaining, listening to podcasts is like getting a crash course on any subject you like. As the founders of andagain, we spend a lot of time on the go which gives us plenty of time to absorb content. Here are 5 podcasts that we love.
When we first heard about Well Made it was through an interview that the founder of Lumi, Jesse Genet, had with Gary Vaynerchuck. For those that may not be aware, Lumi is a Los Angeles based company that manufactures packages and branded supplies to direct to consumer brands (DTC). As a company that works with so many amazing DTC brands, they decided to create a podcast interviewing the founders about how they got their start, how they operate their businesses and a ton of nitty-gritty details that we, as creative entrepreneurs, love to hear about.
Out of all the episodes we’ve listened to here are the top 3:
- Making the Greatest Sock Never Sold with David Heath, CEO and co-founder of Bombas
56: Disregarding Rules with Max Temkin, co-creator of Cards Against Humanity and Blackbox
62: Moving the Rock from Zero to One with Ryan Babenzien
*bonus* 41: Going Direct to Consumer with Lauren Sherman, Chief New York Correspondent, Business of Fashion
While looking for a podcast outside the world of business or fashion, we came across Crime Junkie. Hearing about murders, kidnappings and assaults may seem a bit weird but knowing the stories of others teaches us to feel much more aware of our surroundings. The hosts, Ashley and Brit, make these often gruesome and shocking episodes digestible to hear and do a lot of good by sharing stories of cold cases on the chance that one of their listeners could possibly provide tips.
We must admit that we have only heard one episode thus far, but it was with one of our favorite artists, CJ Hendry. As an overview, Short Story Long was started by Young and Reckless founder, Chis Pfaff where he interviews “individuals who have made a name for themselves and overcame obstacles to reach their level of achievements.” The way the interview was approached, the realistic tone and the attitude of CJ Hendry is the perfect listen when you want to stay grounded.
On a long drive from New York to Southern Pennslyvania, we listened to a podcast about two guys named Alex and PJ who decided to bother a scam caller and track them all the way to India. Since then, we’ve been hooked. This podcast is a lot of things but at its core, it deals with internet culture through segments like “Yes Yes No,” where they dissect tweets that their boss doesn’t understand while other segments include the two hosts trying to solve people’s questions about weird things that happen on the internet.
